The Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs invites you to the second tournament of the Waidhofen Chess Masters: FIDE Rapid with 7 rounds Swiss system, 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment and international Elo rating. It follows on from the success of the bene FIDE Blitz Trophy.
Prize fund € 1.700 (guaranteed from 64 participants), maximum 128 players (64 boards), registration deadline 7 November 2026. As an extra event, the first 32 registered players visit the Kubus at the castle tower for free, with a panoramic view over the City of Towers. We look forward to a chess festival in the unique setting of Schloss Rothschild!

Tradition meets the royal discipline
The Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs is a Lower Austrian chess club with a simple mission: to inspire people of all ages for the royal game of chess, from the first pawn move to rated blitz at international level.
Dedicated hobby players train with us just as much as ambitious tournament players. We organise club evenings and training sessions and are the organiser of the Waidhofen Chess Masters tournament series with the Schloss Rothschild RAPID Open in the heart of the Ybbs Valley.

In cooperation with the Sillpark Innsbruck and Giorgio Events the Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs brings the royal game to Tyrol. As a section of its own within the Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs, we offer free, supervised chess right in the Sillpark, open to beginners and experienced players alike.
